What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept cash, check, and major credit cards although cash or check are preferred.
Do you take insurance?
I do not accept any forms of insurance. Most insurance companies do not provide adequate nutrition coverage, if they provide any at all. Many institutions must raise their out of pocket rates to get reimbursed adequately for nutrition services, inhibiting those who do not have nutrition benefits from getting the care that they need. In order to reach the maximum number of clients who would benefit from nutrition counseling, I have chosen not to accept any insurance and keep rates as low as possible.
What if I can’t afford these rates?
I offer a sliding scale fee for families who make less than $50,000 per year. You may be asked to provide documentation to qualify for the sliding scale.
What if I can’t attend a scheduled appointment?
If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, please call to cancel the day prior to your appointment. You will be charged the full appointment fee for same day cancelations or missed appointments.
Do you offer any groups?
I currently offer one group, a nutrition education and support group for clients with eating disorders. This group is open to anyone currently in eating disorder treatment at any level. Group is co-facilitated by peer support. Groups are held in the 4th floor conference room of the 4041 N High Street building where Columbus Nutrition Counseling is located.
Please call 614-349-1470 or email Columbusnutritioncounseling@gmail.com for information regarding group schedule or cost.
Do you specialize in a particular area of nutrition? Will you see clients that have other issues or concerns?
My main area of focus is eating disorders, however you do not need to have an eating disorder to be seen at Columbus Nutrition Counseling. I have worked with clients on general health improvement, weight loss/weight gain, improving athletic performance, eating disorders or disordered eating, and management of various diseases such as cancer and diabetes. If you have questions about whether this is the right place for you, please call 614-349-1470 or email ColumbusNutritionCounseling@gmail.com and I would be happy to speak with you about finding the right fit for your nutrition needs.
What age groups do you work with?
I primarily work with adults, ages 18 and up. Consideration will be made for working with adolescents ages 16 and up, however parental involvement and prior discussion with the therapist is required. I am unable to work with clients under the age of 16, no exceptions.
